This course is foundational to every Christian’s walk. Students will learn types of prayer, will keep a prayer journal and learn how tools of the trade for intercessory prayer as well as personal prayer.

There are no perfect parents, but GOD! His Word is rich in wisdom in helping parents nurture gracefully while not getting frustrated. As children develop critical thinking and build their moral warehouse, we want them to learn to seek God - not man’s wisdom - for their answers. We desire to see our children enjoyed by us and others and eventually become our friends. This class is just the beginning of this journey. Even though a Bible college student taking this class may not have children, yet, or your children are grown, you still may find yourself ministering to people who do have children, so it’s important to know what God says about the topic.

Religion and cultures have twisted the picture God gives us in the Word concerning marriage. This short study looks at the partnerships between husband and wife and between the couple and God. There is also a covering of grace for marriages that can help people experience the best of their spouse and married life. This course is not just for married people. As a Bible college student preparing to serve in the church, one must be prepared to lead in all areas. 

A Survey of the New Testament introduces the Bible college student to the authors and audience of the New Testament. Since this is only a survey course, there is brief discussion of each book and not in-depth Bible study of each book. Historical information about the authors and audience are also presented. Students are encouraged to further their study of each book by continuing in Series 2 and 3 with more in-depth study of Acts and the Epistles.

This survey course is a brief study of the four Gospels and covers His birth, His three years in ministry and HIs death and resurrection. It also includes information on the political climate of Jesus’ day as well as study of the harmony of the Gospels. Particular time will be spent on writing a reflective paper on a particular miracle Jesus performed or parable that He taught.

The believer’s authority is a concept that is absolutely necessary for the believer to understand. God designed man to rule and reign on the earth, not be subject to the earth and its fallen systems. Our life here on earth is so different when we understand the authority God has given us. This course also includes discussion on the origin, reasons, effects, and examples for blood covenant. Students will study the steps of the blood covenant and God’s purpose for us in covenant. Additional lecture time will cover the power of the blood of Jesus.

“Getting saved” is so much more than just going to heaven someday. Salvation includes restoration back to Garden-of-Eden living, and even better. Two of the most controversial topics in the Church are prosperity and healing. They are part of our salvation package, yet many cringe when those topics are even brought up. In this course we will examine what the Bible says about prosperity - including health, wealth, joy, peace and being highly favored.

Introduction: In this course the student will study the supernatural ministry gift of Helps and the impartation that comes to a Helps minister.

Course completion:  Upon completion of the course students will  

Know the diversity of gifts involved in the Helps ministry

Know the spiritual attributes of a servant of God

Understand their own unique place of service

Understand how to avoid “burn-out” in the Helps ministry


In this course the student will study the power of grace that guides people of Christ-like character. Traits include humility, faithfulness, courage, integrity, loyalty, diligence, gratitude, compassion, and patience. Deeper study of these topics will continue through other courses in this series and later series. 

In this course the student will study the foundational principles of faith and grace. The concepts may seem to be separate, but when living the truly victorious Christian life, faith and grace are inseparable. Only the most basic fundamentals are covered in this course. Deeper study of these topics will continue through other courses in this series and later series.

This series is specifically for the Pastoral Ministries student. Other tracks will be added as needed. At the end of this coursework a student should feel encouraged and prepared as a leader and under shepherd.


Homiletics is the art of preaching - which usually means preaching a salvation message. This class covers teaching and preaching. Students will learn about and write 3 types of sermons and preach (or teach) one orally. 

A continuation of OT Survey I, this course examines important events that explain our history as well as the prophecies of Jesus. The students will not spend time memorizing names and dates but will take a holistic approach to the material and will write a paper on a book or person of the Old Testament.

This core course covers the first half of the Old Testament and students will learn major names and events as they fit in the family history.


The Apostle Paul gives us great insight into serving in the church and how to mentor leaders and love your teams. In 1&2 Timothy and Titus, students will study the early church and Paul’s grace-led leadership.

Personal Evangelism combines topics of evangelism styles and discipleship. Students will learn what their evangelistic style is as well as the importance of “making disciples.” Students will have an opportunity to write their personal testimony and learn how to use it as an effective evangelistic tool.

Worship is consistent and evident throughout the Bible. This course covers the biblical accounts of true worshippers, touching the heart of God through worship, the difference between praise and worship, and learning ways in which worship glorifies God. Learn the environment in which you were created to flourish and that you are already qualified to be in His presence!

There are no accidental humans – God is never surprised! Your purpose and destiny are specific to you. You are a specific person created for a specific purpose in God’s kingdom – now and for eternity. This class combines lecture, class activities, homework assignments and journal entries to prompt self-reflection and Holy Spirit direction.

Course completion:  Upon completion of the course each student will have

An understanding of how one is called, appointed, anointed, and empowered by God for his/her purpose

Working knowledge of how God reveals his/her ordained purpose

Seven ways he/she can confirm the leading of the Holy Spirit

A usable mission statement for his/her life

Learned strategies to maintain a continuous achievement lifestyle


This foundational course covers:

  • What the anointing is and what it is not
  • The simplicity of following the Great Shepherd
  • The significance of the union of the human spirit and the Holy Spirit
  • God’s guidance is personal and progressive and comes to prepare you for what lies ahead
  • Seven basic ways God guides us

This course helps students grow in their understanding of the person of the Holy Spirit and the gifts fo the Spirit as well as the Ministry Gifts God has given to the Church. Students will also have an opportunity to take a Spiritual Gifts assessment. 

Leadership in the church should be different than the power-grabbing that happens in the world. True leaders are servants and desire to see development in their team. They also need to learn how to surround themselves with the right team members, how to appreciate differences to maximize productivity, and how to delegate in a healthy way.

Proverbs 10:22 tells us “The blessing of the LORD makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it” (MEV). Through class lecture and discussion, students will learn God’s original intent for His people, what true Kingdom living looks like, and how love governs the operation of the blessing. The new text book digs into the original Hebrew translation of the Aaronic blessing in Numbers 6.

Heart for the House is a theme of developing God’s heart for His house. While the Body of Christ has many members, there is a special purpose and design for the local church. This class will examine the value and purpose of the local church while also investigating why some people don’t go to church.


The Apostle Paul’s letter to the church at Colossae addresses dangerous heretical teachings that were cropping up in and around the church. Paul gives us a strong dose of grace and truth. his advice on what walking in love looks like is still applicable today. Through lecture, discussion and assessments students will learn the historical background of the city of Colossae, including the social and religious climate of that city; Paul’s love for the Colossians, even though he had never met them; the Colossian heresy and Paul’s answer to it; the mystery of Christ in us.

Paul gives us so much in Philippians. He takes us through our identity in Christ and the joy, unity and  victory we have through grace. 

Paul’s letter to the Ephesians contains rich content regarding our position in Christ and how that equips us to live a victorious Christian life. Students will listen to class lecture, participate in discussion, reading and assessments.

Paul’s letter to the church in Galatia is one of the best explanations of the purpose of the Law and the freedom of Grace. Students will explore these themes through lecture, reading, and discussion.

Paul’s letters to the church at Corinth show us important lessons about church family when surrounded by an ungodly culture. This course will help the student understand historical influence as well as timeless church doctrine.

One of the most inspiring times in history was the birth and infancy of the Church. This class will study verse by verse the book of Acts, investigating the Church, the apostles and the manifestations of the Holy Spirit. 

Course completion:  Upon completion of the course students will understand

The importance of the Holy Spirit in the Church during the dispensation of grace.

To expect to experience the same outpouring and anointing in these last days of the Church age.

The continual partnership between the Holy Spirit and the believer.


As counselors it is important to help people face difficult situations with grace and strength without becoming an enabler. This course examines some life strategies as well as the boundaries a counselor needs to have in place so as not to get exhausted in the noble pursuit of helping people.

This course introduces the theory and techniques behind Marriage and Family Counseling and is a cornerstone course to the vision of Building Strong Families. It is critical for the Christian Coach to understand the significance of the family operating as a healthy system as God designed. The is course discusses the covenant of marriage, what undermines it and how to teach couples to recognize their ability and equipping for having a Kingdom Marriage. Coaches will also learn how to introduce new concepts to couples and families in a non-threatening manner. 

This is one of the Counseling Track courses. Through lecture and discussion, students will learn the four basic temperament, their strengths and weakness and how the infilling of the Holy Spirit enhances strengths and weaknesses.

Posterity. Legacy. How do the systems you build run without you micromanaging them? This course is an in-depth study of the lessons of Creation in Genesis 1 that show us how to build something that lasts.

God designed man to run and reign the earth, never to be subject to it. Our life here on earth is so different when we understand the authority God has given us. Each one of us should walk in that authority in our daily lives; however, we were never designed to have authority over one another. This class will examine the authority of the believer as well as authority and submission as they relate to the structure of the church.

Ethics is considered as the moral principles, regulations and rules that help guide somebody’s behavior, performance and actions in life and profession. The Holy Spirit leads us and guides us into all truth and He teaches us all things. Understanding the minister’s role as priest or ambassador helps guide the minister in decision making.

Introduction: One’s personal philosophy or dominant way of thinking influences one’s direction in life. This course teaches a clear biblical philosophy based solely on the Word of God so one is not tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine.

What God’s Word says about issues we face everyday


A continuation of PM441, this course is a study of various aspects of the worship service, communion, and performing weddings, funerals, baptisms, and baby dedications. Class time will include lecture and student presentations.


Before learning the myriad responsibilities both in and out of a Sunday service, pastors must understand their flocks. This class will prepare a pastor for loving and dealing with each person on the level they need, while protecting and feeding the sheep. In the next class, PM442, more time will be spent on pastoral duties.


This course is the first of the Counseling Track courses necessary for graduating with a degree in Christian Counseling. Pastoral Track students also complete this course. We will cover foundational principles of strong Biblical counseling as well as compare and contrast secular counseling. We will review what it means to be Spirit-led and apply that training to counseling situations. It is recommended for all students of every level, but especially graduate level, to read Colossians in the Passion Translation, as a complement to the first week of reading.


This course focuses on basic leadership development for the student who will be a leader anywhere in the church - not just “five-fold” ministry. This course is the conclusion of the Church Leadership topics introduced in Series 3.

This course is a continuation of the foundational principles of faith and grace started in BIBL101. The concepts may seem to be separate, but to live the truly victorious Christian life, faith and grace are inseparable. There will be a review of some BIBL101 material and then an extension of those topics. Study will include word studies of some Greek and Hebrew words and types and pictures in the Old Testament.
